Here is a letter to the editor of the January 9, 2006 edition of the Philadelphia Daily News concerning the Dover PA case about Intelligent Design.
The letter writer castigates scientists for adhering to Darwin's 19th century speculations even though Darwin did not know about DNA and had never looked through an electron microscope. This is an amazing letter. As a matter of fact modern scientists do know about DNA and they do look through microscopes and guess what? They confirm Darwins's 19th Century speculations.
By that same logic cave men who did not have thermometers knew a fire was hot when they burnt their meat. Scientists have thermometers and guess what? They confirm the cave man notion that the fire is hot when they burn the barbeque.
Please check the above for misspelling and bad grammar.
IN HER JAN. 4 op-ed gem "Dover & the cult of science," Christine Flowers perspicuously describes how the reading of four innocuous paragraphs triggered an alarming example of judicial supremacy.
In this age of DNA and molecular biology, Darwin's disciples continue to zealously adhere to the speculations of a 19-century amateur naturalist who never peered through an electron microscope. Darwin's theories rested on a primitive understanding of science. Even he had serious doubts as he put forth his contentions. Darwinism is more metaphysics than science.
