Parents who abuse their children in this New Age manner are a menace to themselves and their children, but in terms of the greater society are probably not all that much of a force.
Bit get this: Just a few days ago the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was seen by an Iranian Holy Man to have a halo about him as he gave a speech before the United Nations. During that address President Ahmadinejad agreed with that and observed that the other deligates at the General Assembly did not blink once during his 28 minute delivery. Pretty unlikely but no doubt they were stunned into rapt attention. Afterall, President Ahmadinejad only threatened nuclear war, why would they not be sort of interested?
What we now have is a religous fanatic who thinks he has a halo and seems to have a death wish. Furthermore, in a year or so this person is likely to have a nuclear weapon.
And get this, after a recent aircrash near Tehran when 108 people perished, President Ahmadinejad declared that they were hereos and martyrs and that all people should be prepared and eager to follow them.
