I bought into it too, but I am having some major doubts.
This thing though is not like some woo woo paranormal claim of an unexplained miracle ou of the blue. Those woodpeckers really did exist not too long ago and the possibility that they might exist somewhere is large enough that one might be tempted to believe a factual report by scientists. A lot of those scientists are from Cornell University, not some little band of cranky bird watchers.
Personally I tend to believe scientists when they make a claim like this. But some time has passed and one wonderws where is the bird? Where is the proof beyond a couple of phuzzy photos? Following the money trail makes things seem even murkier.
This report is beginning to seem like the cold fusion claim a few years back. I would like to believe both claims and I have extended credibility to the scientists involved. Now I am reeling in that good will. |
