This reminds me of something "Pastor" Craig Roll once said on *Bob for Breakfast*, a local SubGenius radio show that used to air on WKDU-FM in Philadelphia. He cited a report that, "of those smoking today, a third will die." He then added, "Ah, but see what they're not telling you... that means the other two thirds *won't die*."
I think the wife used the surname "Prophet" first. I remember seeing posters for her events as "Elizabeth Clare Prophet" years ago, which made no mention of a husband.
I also believe this is the same group known as the Church Universal and Triumphant, regarded by many as a cult, which some sociologists were accused of collaborating with in the course of an ethnographic study.
