Speaker: Robert B. Eckhardt, Ph.D., Professor of Developmental Genetics at Penn State.

Subject: Faith-Based Challenges to Scientific Understanding

Dr. Eckhardt was involved in the 2005 Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District lawsuit, where the Dover school board had mandated the teaching of "intelligent design" in public schools.

Dr. Eckhardt is Professor of Developmental Genetics and Evolutionary Morphology, Department of Kinesiology, College of Health and Human Development, in addition to the Center for Developmental and Health Genetics and Intercollege Graduate Program in Genetics.

He is also a prolific writer whose work has been published in such peer-reviewed publications as the American Journal of Physical Anthropology.

This event is presented by DVAU, the Delaware Valley Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Light refreshments will be served.
