Air Cadet Sqn seek WW2 info RAF Grangemouth

by

1333 (Grangemouth) Squadron Air Training Corps are currently putting together a project to trace the families and relatives of the Free Polish Pilots that were killed during training exercises whilst serving with 58 Operational Training Unit based at RAF Grangemouth during the Second World War. Eight of the pilots are buried at Grandsable Cemetery which bordered the airfield when it was operational. Every Remembrance Sunday the Squadron visit the graves and carry out an act of Remembrance, on the 28th of December BBC Reporting Scotland showed film footage of us at the cemetery. We would like to contact anyone who had connections or served at the the airfield during WW2. To finalise this project it is our intentions to go to Poland in June this year to meet representatives of the Polish Air Force and any surviving relatives of the trainee pilots that served, or were killed during their training at 58 OTU or RAF Grangemouth.
