Blokarts on Ice
Blokart USA, Great Lakes

Yes, it is true. Blokarts do run on ice. Final testing has been done, and the iceboat kits are in full production. The testing that was done gave us some exciting results.

1. The no tools necessary for assembly so it is easy to do.
2. The speed was extraordinary, out of the box.
3. The seated position made for exceptional comfort while on the ice.
4. The maneuverability and handling was unparalleled by any production iceboat.
5. The Blokart out performed a production iceboat (one that rhymes with “shimmer”) in most points of sail.
6. The most portable and versatile iceboat available.

The blokart not only proved its performance, it also shined in versatility. As the breeze faded during the afternoon, we simply strapped on the 4.0-meter sail and continued to blast around. When the wind piped up enough to cancel some DN races, we simply resorted to the 2.0-meter storm sail. It also helped us to control the sail area for a couple of youth testers.
For those who often wish that DNs were more portable the blokart weighs only 55lbs can be stored in the trunk of a car. It is simple, fun and easy. On the beach in parking lots or out on the ice the blokart with its wheels and now the ice kit the blokart has become the most versatile year round sailing sport.

The toe adjustment feature was simple, and worked well. In fact adjustments on the fly were a snap. All of the testers were impressed with the over-all package. Over the month and a half test period we had a variety of ice conditions from perfect black ice to crusty. When the conditions were at it’s worst, we sailed on the “snowed over crusty crud” with the wheels on. What a blast! Wide open frozen lakes with wheels on!
Have fun…pray for wind!
