Here are some images of a 1/72 scale Italeri AB41 built by my good friend Stan Spooner.
It shows that even a "ham fisted" aircraft modeller like Stan can do an "ok" job at armour!
I'm not completely convinced, though....I still think it's completely done in Photoshop...that huge hand looks a bit suspect!
all kidding aside, It's a wonderful, beautiful presentation...
Look for a complete article in an upcoming issue of TMMI.
Enjoy!
Best,
Nick Cortese

Nice work, Nico
Can you post a few more completed images of the model on the base with the camel. I really love the composition and nameplate as well.

Yes you can send the piece to me. LOL!
This is a superb little scene with a great title and brilliant presentation. I've always liked the look of this wee Italian vehicle and sitting it next to the camel is just inspired- bravo!
Great assembly, painting and display. It looks like the display cost more than the model, but it realy makes it a work of art!
I am curious about the wheels. The Itaeri wheels I have seen were not well detailed; were these replaced with aftermarket? I think CMK makes resin replacements?

They are kit wheels

Stephen, sorry I took so long to comment on your question. These are the kit wheels. They have plenty of hub detail but no tread at all! I played with the idea of making a master and casting some up but decided to just go with what came with the kit. As for CMK... I don’t know if they have come up with a replacement set or not.

Sorry, couldn't resist! VERY nice surprise from you Stan! What a cool presentation too, very creative. You're making me stop and take yet another inquisitive look into this scale....
Thanks Nick for getting that up here. Love it! Is there anything new from you these days?

I want to thank all of you for your kind words. It means alot to hear from people who's work I have admired for so long. I hope that the upcoming article in TMMI will answer most of your questions. And Nick, thanks to you my frozen friend from the north!
Well, I'll give it to you, but then by default I'll have permission to hand out your private contact info to the first guy that asks me! Did you ever for a second consider the possibility that Stan doesn't want me passing out his email address???
