King Tiger, complete.......

G'Day All;

Here is my latest silliness, this is a Tamiya King Tiger, in 1/48. I've been enjoying the several builds done by lots of great modellers here, and I wanted to try out the red primer look I've seen done to perfection by modellers like MiG & Adam Wilder.

Here is my interpretation of that. The model was painted in Tamiya acrylics, with weathering done using oil washes, and pigments used both wet & dry.

All comments are welcomed, in fact, greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance for looking.

Thanks again, and Cheers, Pat

A lovely, grimey brute.

Hi, Pat:

You've done a great job with the red primer and oil staining with this Tiger. It looks well used and abused.

Cheers,

Chris

Beautiful KT Pat.
I'm doing one that's very similar and love the effect you've acheived.
Outstanding paintwork and weathering.

Jurgen.

One of my most favourite finishes, too! Congratulations!!

Now if I want to copy it, can you tell me what detail set and barrel you used?

And did you use masking tape for the camo, or brush painted it?

Thank you for sharing,

Lukas

Very nice

I'm working on something "similer" in 1/72. Can I ask you about the factory marks on your model? Did they come from actual photos or did you just make them up? They look very convincing.

One of the better 1/48th subjects I have seen so far. Love the finish and the cool camo as well.

Nice photos. Hope you see this.
