Without going into a lengthy (and probably very boring to you) description of the events, I'd describe them as a)
surprising, b) a bit frightening and c) questionable re value, but I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who could clarify them for me.
My first experience was, while driving home (beautiful day, very relaxed), the radio news reported that an infant was missing from a home in the city I'd been shopping in and that used to be where we lived.
I didn't 'see' the baby, but I did see a very specific picture of a house I used to drive by every day - one that was not in the neighborhood of the baby's home. For some reason, I knew the child was either in or somewhere close by that house...and I knew the baby was dead.
I told my husband, who said I should call the police, but I choked on that one, imagining the reaction of the receiver of such a call and didn't dial the phone.
Three days later, they found the infant buried behind the very house I'd seen.
Not long after that, I was driving over a bridge, happened to glance down at the river's edge and knew a dead body was down there. A couple of hours later, I drove back over the same bridge and saw the yellow 'ribbons'
the police used to isolate an area where a body had been found.
This sort of thing began happening with great frequency (too much, for me), even to watching television and seeing a group of people searching an area some distance from a US farm house from where a child had gone missing. I saw the child, lying in a slight indentation of the soil, missing one runner off his foot and a white pipe (drain type) close by.
They found the little one a few days later - he'd tripped over the drain pipe, lost his shoe and stayed put (presumably, he'd hit his head and was knocked out for a while), where he died of hypothermia.
What is this? Is there a name for it? If I were wishing for parapsychological 'gifts', I'd certainly not have chosen locating dead bodies, so this isn't a case of longing to be 'different'...it's just perplexing.
