Response to Testing

I took the CNA test in Michigan the first time I took it and failed. It was the skills part I couldn't pass. I was nearly in tears. I thought it was all common sence and for the most part it is, but you HAVE to know your skills step for step in the correct order. I went home and got my books out and got into the zone. When I went back two weeks later I knew my skills step for step by memory. I was asked to drape and undrape, peri-care and transfer to chair as well as hand washing and something else, (its been so long ago I can't remember) however, as I did each skill for the RN, I said the steps to myself so I would know not to miss anything as well as the correct order to do them in. I passed. The text portion of the test is simple enough, basicly common sence. When I moved to Indiana all I had to do was the text portion. As long as you know your skills you should do just fine. Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of nursing.
