That awesome. Although I myself wouldnt be kosher with the idea of starting a cath or drawing blood had I not been properly trained and checked off on the skills. I'm speaking from a VERY busy hosp in a large city. I also work per diem on a skill nursing unit in a senior community and have never been asked to do anything even close to what we do on the CI/EC unit at the hosp. I think its great if you guys are willing to put your career in health care on the line by just being trained by current employees though.
