Response to CNA not a stable job?

you will be fine. I went from a desk job to being a CNA, and the first facility i worked in was lousy. I was doing it the way they taught me in school, and I think a lot of us find that it's too slow to do it exactly that way. They thought I was a slow learner, and since I like school in general, I take notes whenever I think I need to, on anything. They stopped talking to me, I asked them what was going on and they thought I was a policeman, or the nursing home ombudsman. As new to the work as I was, police and ombudsmen probably should have been there, as there were some obvious things that were just plain wrong. I'll give you one. We were doing rounds around 4:00 p.m. and our patient had a hard formed stool in the bed. no big deal, i thought, this will take less than 5 minutes. The CNA training me said "no, we can't do this now, this has to wait until our 7:00 p.m. rounds." I cleaned up the patient anyway, and none of the CNAs spoke to me again. I still have that little calendar and I made a big black dot on the page, and put "4:00 p.m." next to it on that day. Just keep on moving. There are better situations out there. My next facility, not a single problem, and no problems since.

peace always,
