Try not to let the cattyness bother you. This field is mainly dominated by females. I've been doing this for almost 16 years and someone is always going to not like you! Just make sure you stand up for yourself, or you will always be bullied. Besides, you're there for the residents, not to make friends, if you happen to make some wonderful friends (and trust me you will!), then all the better. Toughen up because like i said, someones always going to find fault with something about you--either you don't smile enough, you're not overly friendly, blah,blah,blah, and so on. Take care of your residents like you would want someone to take care of your family member, follow state regulations, and always work with a partner, this makes everything much easier and always, always, always covers your behind!!!!!!! Don't quit, if this is what you are meant to do, it will get better and you will love it, not to mention, you're residents will LOVE YOU!!!! Hang in there, you'll be ok.
