Danny I AGREE WITH YOU 100%

Although, I thought it was easier for guys because you all don't have to do as much work--being that nursing homes are consisted of mostly female residents and alot of them do not want male CNAs. Even some men did not want them. So they get what is left which is not a lot. At the nursing home I was employed, the men did not do as much as we did--they had all the easier patients. While, the female CNAs were stuck lifting EXTREMELY heavy and difficult patients, some who were abrasive males who kicked, punched and bit us (they were STRONG to be so old).

I also have to say that the firing because they don't like you is rampant in the nursing homes. There are so many bitter, and miserable LPNs/RNs who are not happy with their life and take it out on the younger CNAs who are just starting out in the workforce and in life. I am not tooting my own horn, but I had women--some young and older than me who were jealous of my appearance and would needle at my job performances over trite things. I ended up getting blamed for EVERYTHING, they found so much fault with my job performance--didn't like my set, some would lie and say I still had trash in the room after my shift etc etc. Eventually, I was let go and I cried--it was my SECOND nursing home that let me go over trivial issues. I think back and cannot see how I would do anything differently. I am serious. I came to work everyday, on time, never missed a beat, and that still was not appreciated.

There was an older lady (CNA) who was being picked on one of the LPNs just did not like her and all of the nurses were plotting to get her fired. One was overheard saying, "i was trying to write her up so she can get fired, but everytime I go behind her there was nothing I could find to write her up about" They are WICKED, and I wonder if she still works there.
