my mother passed away at the end of january of this year. we will all have our first mother's day without our mother. the day before, i was in pieces, and when i woke up on mother's day, i was celebrating her life. she was an absolute powerhouse in her personal and professional life, and launched 5 children into healthy adulthood. all of my life i have heard people explain how deceased relatives live on through our memories in a very real way, and as of mother's day 2008, I now understand.
