Why do you have to start in 'acute'?
I did most of my CNA stint in hospital setting, but on a med-surg/oncology floor. Acute care was more difficult to get into --- just as you're finding.
But, it's the old 'get your foot in the door' first. There are far fewer hospital jobs, than LTC, to begin with. If you spend at least a year getting your basic experience in hospital, getting to know some people, making some inquiries, and most importantly, getting good reviews as a valued CNA ---- then you have a better shot at the job.
I think you're simply aiming too high for someone straight out of school and unproven. |
