Hi.

Has anybody collated the mods (light hammer...) and upgrade kit (eg breach risers etc)and so on, and PCP conventions together?

I'm thinking of something like the B50 book?

From this post you'll have guessed my opinion of the Ne54 search engine

QB78 Tuning

July 5 2008, 11:25 AM

Ora,

As you undoubtedly know, I've written the "QB78 Family Workshop Manual" covering the basic steps of stripping and re-building these guns, plus some accessorising. But I stopped at that point - it's 88 pages long already!

To my knowledge, there's no tuning book or article collection available for the QB78 that's in any way comparable to the excellent B50 book. I've certainly thought about producing a QB78 tuning guide, but the amount of time it would take to write - or even compile - such an edition would be daunting. So far, I've not had the time, but it would be a very worthwhile project for someone...

The problem IMO is that-

July 5 2008, 3:39 PM

there are many different opinions on every mod and sometimes they are 180 out from each other. I know I have seen at least 3 or more takes on bolt probes, hammer spring spacers, valve porting etc.

So to compile a decent reference you would have to decide what is correct and stand behind it or include every opinion on the subject. (a truly daunting ask).

There have been a few who have made a decent attempt to bring together all the mods. This one was posted here.

Mike Melick in Iowa, (a noted tuner) has a manual that describes assembly, disassembly and some of the most common mods and a few not so common. If you were to E-Mail him I am pretty sure he would send you the file. He always tries to help whenever he can.

Also as was posted earlier Archer Airguns sells a good book on the whole family of QB 78's.

And last there is a lot of good information here under QB78.

Just my thoughts.
