Hello, I am about to become the very proud owner of a 6 year old friesian gelding that I am bringing over from the Netherlands. I will have him around the middle of March. I have owned horses all my life but I know owning and caring for a friesian is going to be a "bit" different. I live in southern Florida and the temperature is very hot and humid. I would appreciate very much if anyone could make suggestions as to the extra care and braiding of his mane. "Wilco" has a mane down past his shoulder. What kind of conditioners, shampoos, how often to wash, etc. In addition if anyone could give me information on what is the best feed to give, hay, and supplements it would help me alot.
