I own 7 Friesians. Not one has ever walked through a fence or kicked a hole in a stall. They are horses, and just like any horse out there, some like to test the world around them. It has nothing to do with their being Friesians. Any horse needs a sturdy stall in good condition. They do have a lot more mass than some light horses, so when they rub on the wall, it had better be strong. All horses should have well chosen fencing that is maintained and sturdy. Again, they have some mass, so if they rub on a post, it had better be a sturdy one. The fencing had better be visible, so no accidents occur - and, again, this applies to all horses. Personally, my Friesians - ranging from a month old, to two newly gelded former stallions, all respect the electric fence. They all have great stall manners. They all handle very well. Poor handling is the handler's fault - not the fault of any horse or any breed. Starting from day one, handling must be consistant and perameters laid down. Set up appointments and go visit some Friesian farms. You'll fall in love and also see that what you are hearing is absolute nonsense. "It's not the horse that is bad - it's the people"
