After all, it's Korean names said with Japanese syllables, and the Korean syllable system is a lot more complex than Japanese's. It also has a 'ng' sound which Japanese doesn't.
It also has Choi's name said as Cho-ee, which may not be correct either. I was always under the understanding that the name 'Choi' is actually pronounced closer to 'Jay' than 'Choy'.
