housing in Santo Domingo

by (Login sisjay)

I am attending UNIBE in May of 07, so I have about 1 year to prepare.
I am bringing 2 of my children, 9 and 10, with me to the island. My children (nor I) do don't speak spanish. My desire is to enroll them into a school where they will learn spanish and become fluent (bilingual). Also, I'd like to know the best area to live in Santo Domingo as a mom and student... What are the prices like, etc...

Thanks,
JayVon

new students starting may/aug 2004, want to share housing

by raina (Login raina1)

hi, i was looking for anyone or two people that would like to share housing. I am looking to rent a house near the school. I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in sharing the house.

I am a parent , a single mom to a 2 year old little girl. So i will be keeping a nanny/housekeeper/cook. That is 1 person not 3 , but in eighter case i was looking for a big house so any other student that is interested would not be distrubed. the rent would be about $400 a month. The house is about 1 mile from school and very spacious. Please e-mail if interested

Need 1 bedroom AUC

by (Login BillCornbread)

Need a 1 bedroom at SXM for incoming AUC student. I want to move in by DEC 15 2004. I will bring two indoor only cats along with wife and 9th month old. Please email pics to me and info on what you have. AUC only budgets us about $1300 a month for board. So if it more than that then I am not interested.

Thanks
Jeff

CONDO FOR SALE: Perfect for AUC students

by (Login cupecoyvilla)

Cupecoy Beach Club- Across from AUC

We bought our condo one month before we moved to St. Maarten and my husband started at AUC. We decided to buy because rent was so expensive at any of the places we would consider living in.

Cupecoy is a luxury community. It has 24 hour security (major bonus- car break-ins are common in SXM) Our villa is 1650 sq.ft with two bedrooms and three full bathrooms. It has two large balconys and a large kitchen, dinning and living area. Washer/Dryer and tons of closet space. We are selling it fully furnished.
Cupecoy has a pool, exercise room and confrence room which is great for hosting parties in. The pool bar is convenient for lunch and an after school drink. We have private access to Cupecoy beach and parking.

The benefits in buying in St. Maarten are several.
You are assured excellent housing during your 20 month program.
Your monthly payments are invested in appreciable property versus paying rent.
Parents, family and friends can enjoy a vacation during semester breaks.

This is unarguably the nicest housing community within walking distance of AUC. Availability is low and demand is high, any student who can afford to, wants to live here!

When we bought this condo we planned on keeping as a family vacationing option and renting it out. We rented it the first day it was advertised and had people calling us for weeks after!
Because our family has gotten bigger since we bought the condo we are forced to put off having our dream vacation spot until later.

If you would like more info post a message and I will get back to you.

$235,000.00
