I'm in the middle of refinishing a PenYan Rainbow. I've been told that this model had an external stem that was nailed/screwed over the canvas tacked to the 'inner' stem. And apparently it mated up with a notch in the keel, and a brass stem band was added to the outer edge. This makes sense since the outer edge of the inner stem is quite wide - about 1".
So... I'm looking for some pictures to help guide me on how to restore & rebuild this area. Any help or advice would be appreciated!
