NO DRUMMER?

I heard that one of the final race teams were DQ'd for not having a Drummer. I think it was C final, though I may be wrong. Is this true? Can someone explain to me how they couldn't find someone to Drum? It not the most skilled position in the boat, no offence to drummers out there. I'm sure there was a very good reason, possibly they had 2 races back to back? Can anyone provide me with more info on this.
I think it was the Mofo's but that's just what I heard. This is not a bashing thread, i'm just curious as to what happened.

Every team in the C final had a drummer for the race. The drummer for lane one came over via a motorboat at the last minute. Somebody probably just saw lane one leave the docks without a drummer and didn't realize he was meeting them at the start line.

drummer not skilled?

"It not the most skilled position in the boat, no offence to drummers out there.

Someone needs to call the race - a drummer can make or break a race - not all steerspeople can be heard at the front of a forward moving dragon boat - not all steerspeople want to yell - ever paddled in a race where one of the paddlers was calling the race - or when everyone in the boat was calling the race?

I like paddling, but drumming is scary.

The drummer for lane one, who is also the team's coach, was racing in the race just before the C final. He's on the men's national team. I believe the team was Sunnybrook, who ended up in third place.

Wow that was a tight race with only a few meters to go before the finish line. It looks like Sinai in lane 4 had a slight lead on everyone at this point.

Want photo/video

To "Anonymous" who posted the Community C final on the forum. Would you happen to have any other photos of this race? By chance would anyone have a video of this race also? It was quite a race and finish. All 6 boats within 1.03 secs.

good race, but all the zooming in and out made me dizzy.
Rule 1 - never make sudden focus changes and sudden movements with zoom
