For my money.

1 Canadian Senior Dragonboat Club
2 Dragon Beasts
3 Big Fish
4 SCC Team Chiropractic
5 Telus Phoenixes
6 Collingwood Side Launchers
7 Phoenix ETS
8 Cascades Grand Masters
9 Montreal Thunder
10 Bytown
11 Verdun-Express
12 SCC Dragons
13 Team Chaos
14 Wongs DBC Immortal Dragons
15 Paddle Demons
16 Nepean Masters
17 Human Kinetics
18 Gung Ho
19 PanaCEAA
20 Fleet of Foote

Don't expect Bytown to be stacked with canoe club kids,...likely an ugly rumor from TO teams.

Forgot the Blue Dragons, Ottawa Police. They may be in the end there somewhere.

Chiro have fallen off. You got em too high. Nepean Masters need to move up. Are Wongs and Verdun really that weak? Is Thunder that much improved? What have you heard about the canoe clubbers? How do you know they're not involved? I bet they're under a new corporate name.

Look for a couple of the women's crews... OHDBC + Snr Nats to possibly rank in or near the top 20 after Saturday's heats.

9th for Thunder?

June 21 2006, 8:30 AM

Unless they have the crew from MIDBRF in 2005 they won't get that far.

Does it matter?

For the first 10 teams based on previous festivals like Pickering and Lachine, etc? I am lazy and don't want to look.

SCC Chiro over Big Fish and Telus

June 21 2006, 2:01 PM

Please. I think you're not giving SCC Chiro enough credit.

SCC are not the same crew as last year.
Why do people take the result from the year before and assume its the same crew ??

"Why do people take the result from the year before and assume its the same crew ??"

Without seeing them this year, why wouldn't we?

Because it shows your ignorance of crew changes and who actually turns up at Festivals
in the boat.

Not Chiro

June 21 2006, 10:15 PM

Also Chiro do not have anybody on the senior team. SCC Dragons do.

"Because it shows your ignorance of crew changes and who actually turns up at Festivals
in the boat."

What's the matter with you? So should every team to post a roster here on the Forum before every festival just so everyone can have a better chance at predicting the results?

Anon 3:29pm was just giving them the benefit of the doubt that they went thru minimal roster loss in the off-season. Just for the record, I don't know Anon 3:29pm and am not affiliated with him/her in any way.

I think Anon was trying to say year to year, you can't base a crews
supposed performance on the previous years as there are roster changes.

Wow! For the person bragging about inside information you really didn't have a clue what you were talking about.

Chiro have fallen off - guess not

Nepean Masters need to move up- nope, same team as last year

Are Wongs and Verdun really that weak? - apparently

Is Thunder that much improved?- ok you got something right, they didn't pick up any slayers for this one (unlike Montreal 2005)

What have you heard about the canoe clubbers? How do you know they're not involved? I bet they're under a new corporate name - generally talking to them and finding out that they are not paddling helps to know they are not involved. No new corporate name just didn't race. Also not on Bytown.

Ottawa

June 25 2006, 7:42 PM

Bytown is a dragon boat team - no sprinters, no stacking. Just a group of good and committed paddlers.

Events Alive did not race this year as many/most of the crew members were at various other sprint related events, training camps, etc. As Mac said at the awards ceremony, everyone looks forward to a showdown next year.

Good weekend of racing. No thunderstorm. First time ever.

"Have they fallen that far?" No, those were their B-crews that were present not the A boats.

Lol! I think the predictions were clearly referring to the Immortal Dragons and Verdun Express. Not the Slayers and Adrenaline.
