To anyone who raced in A B and C, thanks for coming out... its really great to have such high caliber teams out there pushing each other, making the sport of Dragon Boat the fastest growing sport on the planet! I hope to see faster times next year.. with fitter paddlers next year...( so that other teams and not only the mofos can go topless...) I hope more C crews this year get into B, and more B teams get into A, so that the A B & C finals next year will be such nail biters that more people actually stay on the island to watch the Big Show..

As Athletes we really need to push each other in this sport we love. Train to race. race to win, but if you lose, relax you get do it all over again...unless you give up... but for those who give up here's some advice.

yes life exists outside of ABC..but unless you've been there...you probably don't know what it took to get there... being in A means you worked your ass off to be able to beat every one from B to Z... so while the G champions are drinking their beer cheering for their freshly barbequed meat on a stick... the A division is marshalling to work their ass off to get across the finish line, a race they've probably raced a hundred time in practice...yes there is life outside ABC... its just probably filled with people who hopefully one day get to experience what time, training,and experience does...and maybe one day we'll see new teams creep up on the top 3 divisions... till then ..enjoy the show..

Damn, that decides it for me then. I'm giving up this A division crap and joining the G divison for beer and barbeque!

It was more fun in 'D' and I had better perspective about where paddling fits in my life.

But the beer tastes better in 'A'.
