PDBC Parking Scam

Check this letter out below. This is funny. They rented out the land to charge for parking. More $$ in their pocket. Like they don't get enough. They should rent it out and not charge paddlers if they really wanted to give back to their supporters. They were problay threatened to loose their spot. They can't tell you where you can or can't park on a public road. Who do these people think they are. They get a little power now they think they run the city. I am going to park wherever I want, and If i get a ticket, PDBC should pay. They can't tell us now mid season that we have to pay for parking.

Hello Everyone.

In an effort for the Pickering Dragon Boat Club to establish and maintain good relationships in the area surrounding Frenchman’s Bay, we would like to ask for your patience and understanding as we are required to change our current parking structure. Attached is a revised map that will clearly outline the new parking zones.

Please note that the yellow section located to the far east of the condominiums on Liverpool Rd. is now paid parking. A $5 fee will be collected by a pdbc representative at the entrance to this parking. You will not be able to park in this lot without having paid the $5 fee. We are doing our best to be good neighbours in the community and would appreciate your co-operation with the parking effort.

So, to be clear, you now have three parking options:

1. Park (for free) on Liverpool road, or on any of the community streets, so long as you adhere to the parking signs (otherwise you will be ticketed). We ask that you do not park in front of the townhouse commercial street frontage on the south end of Liverpool road, as the local businesses need parking for their customers.

2. Park (for free) in the public lot in the very south end of Liverpool road, on the east side of the street (the west side is private property and belongs to the restaurant ).

3. Park in the paid parking lot, which costs $5 and is marked on the attached map.

If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact the Pickering Dragon Boat Club at 416.238.4567 or pdbc@pdbc.ca, or me at club.crews@pdbc.ca.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

bau

Wah wah wah...parking costs money everywhere. If you really want to spite them (and be less environment-hating), ride your bike to practice. Not only will you save the $5 on parking, you'll save a couple bucks on gas while you're at it.

Just park on the street (or the South lot) for free. They aren't forcing you to park anywhere.

You are an idiot. They're giving you three parking options, two of which are free, and you think they should pay your parking tickets?

Umm, yeah. Okay.

Get over the fact that your father never taught you to throw a ball properly.

WRCC is not in a location that is being developed either. You are comparing apples to oranges.I am familiar with both locations.

My guess is that PDBC does not pocket this money, as the land is not theirs. There has been growing issues with parking since the developments went in there.

Get there early.

Carpool.

Run.

Bike.

Park at Progress park.

There are many affordable options.

Shut up and paddle is another one.

PDBC can't control that the condo people want money to park in their space. You clearly are ignorant of the situation. Park somewhere else or stop being lazy and bike. Don't come on here and complain to us because you're lazy and ignorant. Shut up and paddle, I'm guessing you paddle on rec team.

Hey, there are a lot of paddling clubs that are located in developed areas. And yes, there is NO free parking. Guess what, either pay or take the above suggestions of car pooling, busing, biking, walking, etc. Unless, of course, you want to compare against Alberta, where the biggest gas guzzler rules.

There are plenty of other parking spots around the area. If the free spots nearby are full, then park a little farther and walk.
