"The City of Welland learned Wednesday it will host the 2008 Canadian National Dragon Boat Championships. A combination of the recently upgraded facilities, including timing towers on both the north and south courses, as well as the course itself were factors in the Dragon Boat Canada's decision to award the three-day event to Welland. I don't know why they always try to make it 3 days. Eventually they will pare it down to 2 days anyhow.

Is this open to anyone to participate in?

Anyone can compete at the Nationals and they can bring any roster.

I don't think anyone can bring any roster. It'll be similar to current year where your roster has to race a minimum of two sanctioned races with restricted changes in your roster between sanctioned races and the Nationals.

Roster restrictions only apply if your team is using the it as a qualifying event for the world club crews, etc.

Interesting, DBC hasn't selected a location yet.
