So paint me confused. Is this the U.S national team (or a significant portion of it), or not? Someone posted here saying they are a split off of the Philly DB program we all know (makes sense since Blundetto is the coach for Manayunk) but what's with all of the references to being team USA then?

I think this team sent a lot of Senior paddlers to Sydney who competed in as the USA B team in the Senior division.

Team USA

Did you go to the home page www.manayunkdbracing.org? Put your sound on. The Queen song refrain "We are the champions" and the flag, statue of Liberty and eagle, etc. are a bit over the top. Looks like they are wearing a medal in Sydney. Americans: certainly not the bashful type.

This is clearly not the main Philly team but the site is confusing as every indication points to this as Team USA.
Found this too:
"June 21 and 22 we race with the Canadian National Team In Canada in a joint effort."

Are they racing in the Island with some of the CSDC guys?

Looking at the Sydney results, USA B did win a bronze. So that's probably the medal they're wearing.

The music and symbols are a bit much, but Americans do tend to be a bit, ahem, "bold" at times. No harm.

I'm not sure what's confusing about their identifying themselves as Team USA. There are lots of divisions at the Worlds: Youth, Premier, Masters, Grand Masters. In each of those divisions, there can be Open, Women's, and Mixed teams. So each country can enter teams in 12 different spots, and sometimes a country can include two teams ("A" and "B") teams. I think it's to be expected that different teams will represent the same country at the worlds.

So, how good will they be? Are they racing with the CSDC as advertised or bringing all from Philly? Looks like a lot of their team in Sydney was from out of town. They are entered in both a mixed and an Open boat.
