Tough to predict Events Alive. Last year they had access to the National Sprint Flatwater team (Andrew and Ben Russell, Richard Dalton, Angus Mortimer, Rhys Hill, Brady Reardon, Ryan Cochrane, etc). The question is will they have access to those guys this year? If they do, they'll beat Chiro. If they don't, and they just have the Rideau kids, they'll lose.


Chiro and EA are the only strong teams, after a couple of years of having a deep field.

"In the know", only I don't know.

I'm sick of the brash young "ringers" of Events Alive winning every year, so I'm going against the flow.

LOL. How can you watch them from outside the boat when you're paddling in it?

Proving that things move in cycles, Toronto Island has returned to being the top festival after Ottawa took the reins for a few years.

1. Events Alive - Won't be as fast since the sprint guys won't be as easy to come by. But Rideau CC isn't one of the best canoe clubs in Canada for nothing. Their kids will win it easily.

2. Sudbury Chiro - Dominated the nationals in Calgary last year against what was thought to be a really fast team (Gorging Dragons). Now that they have a CCWC berth, they should be even better than before.

3. Team Chaos - I didn't publicly pick you guys before so I am rectifying it here. Do me proud.

4. Jetstart - Ottawa will bring the harsh winds of reality that Milton was likely a fluke.

5. Gung Ho - An unknown in Ontario, this Quebec team is pretty fast and belongs in the the Jetstart/Chaos/B-division grouping

6. Cascades - Closer to home = 100% roster

7. Adrenaline - Hospital team did well in Lacine. Will try to continue that here.

8. Mofos - No longer knitting in Brantford, this means its either the full team or Marge didn't appreciate them. Would rank higher but I don't think the full team will be able to make the trek up to Ottawa.
