July 23 2008 at 10:18 AM

-
There will be a DBC Level 1 Official Certification tentative set for Sunday, August 17th 9am to 2pm. Recommended for race organizers, starters, judges and any coaches who want to know how the rules are interpreted. All participants would immediately be granted their level 1 Officials Certification. Scott Murray is running the certification.

Please email me for more details if you are interested.

That would be great. I would love to learn how PDBC paddles. They are so successful at what they do and how they teach. Wake up people!

Gimme a break. I'm sure PDBC is working with Mayfair calabre paddlers.

Keep on mind this is an officiating certification not a coaching clinic so you will not learn about specific strokes etc. You will learn the various details about running an event re: starter, referee, finish judges etc.

I can see coaching certification, but officiating?

Not much to learn.

If officials at every regatta are certified by DBC, it will make everything run better. it would make the rules for very regatta uniforma and wouldn't make it easier to jump the gun and ride wash at some regattas.
