Once in 1971 early in Nov. I, my girlfriend at the time and a few friends went to the bridge in Oviedo and waited for something to happen. We were there for about and hour and half getting a little high. We became bored and started to leave when we heard a shrill scream come from out over the creek and saw these two lights (orbs)one about the size of a basketball and the other maybe a softball come moving by us at a high rate of speed. Well, we all decided to leave at that time and in a BIG hurry. As we were leaving and going down the road we heard the scream again and looked to see and there were the lights following us. Sometimes they separated and sometimes they came at us together but we didnt lose them till we were almost to Red Bug Road, FREAKY !!! In those days there were no houses or lights on the roads and we could see the lights really well till they left as soon as they appeared.I havent been back yet. Still kinda creeped out. I have been around the world since then, Vietnam, Europe, Hawaii(spirit loaded) because of a 22 year military career but I have as yet to see anything to compare back there in Oviedo. My sons and I are amateur ghost hunters and live in Charleston , South Carolina (rich in its own hauntings which we investigate)and plan to come to the area again to investigate some of the phenomenon there in my hometown area of Orlando sometime around October of 2003. Hope to see ya'll there.
P.S. I notice most of these stories seem to include the light or lights following cars...Hmmmmm !

It seems everyone gets chased by the lights, yet my husband and I never have and we've been there numerous times. Usually we don't see much of anything, just lights reflected on the water from the stars. We have heard some weird noises that cannot be explained. To put it mildly, one sounded like an owl getting raped. Does that make sense?
What color were the lights that chased you?

Sorry to take so long to get back to you.The two lights were of the same color. I would say they were at times very bright (stationary) or lighter (moving). the color was an opaque white, very luminescent, very frightening. The sound was more of a scream like a screech owl (used to be prevalent in the area) but much more unnerving.I grew up in Kissimmee in a flood control district just south of town around Lake Toho and in all my years of living in the woods on a farm I NEVER heard a noise or saw anything as I had seen that night. This was a long time ago also. Im not aware of the areas growth in the last twenty or so years and dont know if the lighting and elctrical wiring (high voltage) would have any thing to do with the dissapation of energy of the lights. When we went there (1970-71) the closest house was almost a mile away.....Bill
