Slayer is Luc and Isam both.
Luc was the brother of Tigraine (daughter-heir of andor), the mother of Rand.
Isam was Lan's cousin or nephew (i don't know the right word). He was the son of the brother of Lan's father.

He is de Dark Ones assassin. so he definitely evil.

Slayer seems like a pretty twisted guy. Maybe he killed trollocs for fun. As for the grey man, I think it has to do with the Forsakens' personal agendas. Maybe one Forsaken wanted Nynaeve and Egwene out of the picture, and another one wanted to stop that Forsaken, so he hired Slayer to do it.

As for Perrin, Slayer was definetly not trying to help Perrin. He gave lots of stupid advice and went against Perrin on a lot of subjects. It's just Perrin thought Slayer was doing those things 'cause he was an idiot. Besides, he was only appearing to cooperate. In the World of Dreams, Slayer tried many times to trap Perrin and kill him.

IN the first book Padan Fain was only a darkfriend and he listened to the Dark One. In shadar Logoth he became more than that. Mordeth entered his body.
Shadar Logoth and Mordeth are also even, but they are a different evil than the dark one. The evil of sl was created with the intention to do good, but the evil is a big as the dark ones.
That means that at this point Fain is a danger to the dark ones agenda. Fain follows his own path and doesn't listen to the dark one.
Fain can kill forsaken easily with the dagger, if he comes near them. He has also other mysterious powers.
Like the one we saw in far madding.

Fain was of no importance to the Forsaken until WH

They didn't care what Fain did until he killed the Asha'Man in WH. The Forsaken wanted Rand dead and Fain destroyed there plans. That was when Moradin ordered Luc/Isam to kill Fain. Before WH Fain was just a biteme on the wall. I think the Forsaken have finally become aware how dangerous Fain(MORDEATH) is. It would not surprise me if Fain dosen't kill one of the Forsaken before it is done. I do believe that he will kill Luc/Isam.
