My name is Lorenzo Odino I born and lived in Asmara till 1964; between 1959 - 1962 i meat a girl by name
"Melody" who use to call me "mike mouse".
I would like to find Ms Melody just to understand she and all friends are fine. They lived in a villa under "Forte Baldissera" where her father was serving in the U.S. Army.
I am Italian and remember those years passed with many American friends, many time at the Kagnew Station and often playing basket with my school team againt the same age of American school.
I would share my memories with many American friends I had at that time.

You are probably looking for Melody Bryant. As yet I do not have her located but as soon as I locate her I will let you know. I arrived in Asmara in August 1959 and left in July 1963. I spent my time attending all 4 years of High School (Secondary) while there. And of course riding the Littorina to massawa. I lived in the house that was behind the Blue Nile Bar. It was owned by the man who made the beautiful olive wood bowls. I left in 1963 and came back to the states and joined the Air Force and went back to Eritrea/Ethiopia with the Mapping Mission in 1965. I have since returned to Asmara in 1993 and 1994. I find it interesting that the children of the Italians that leved there are coming back for visits now. My best Italian friend was Umberto Menghetti who owned the Menghetti Restaurant and hotel.. He is now dead I am sure. I will write more later.

thank yuo for your message, I am not sure of the father name of Melody : Bryant, aniway I do appriciate your effords to locate her, I hope she is the same person I knew.
I do remember Umberto Menghetti, most of Italians in asmara remeber him, he was a brilliant musician for us at that time that we were young.
