| This is my first post to this board, I am the mother of a four year old mild-moderate autistic boy with dyspraxia and i have been reading A LOT of information re autism and the central nervous system. I am surprised to constantly find references to dyspraxia, ADD, ADHD and dyslexia when I am searching for information regarding autism, so here is a theory I have been considering....
Autism appears to be a fault within the central nervous system (cns), what if it (cns) wasn't properly developed in the first place and autism was triggered by an environmental factor.
I believe my son was normal until 8-9 months of age, everything was on track, i believe his autism was triggered probably by DTP vaccination - mercury. But as not all kids who recieved their vaccinations became autistic, I believe he was probably pre-disposed to autism due to an incorrectly developed cns - I think he failed to have his primitive reflexes inhibited in the normal course of his development, had a suppressed immune system - due to recurring ear infections and antibiotics and this threw his cns into chaos, predisposing him to autism and dyspraxia. All it took was the mecury in the vaccinations to set it off.
There is currently some information showing links between failing to loose your primitive reflexes and dyslexia, ADD, ADHA, dyspraxia, but often when you read about autism, you read about one of these conditions co-occurring, and all are CNS based disorders.
So my theory for my son is instead of working on just part of the problem work on the underlying problem with the cns. Inhibit the primitive reflexes to allow the cns to move on to correct development, undergo a mercury cheletion program work on anything else such as AIT, diet, etc to compliment the treatments.
I would like feedback to determine if i am on the right track, or if you think i have done so much reading i have totally confused myself and have no idea. I am trying to form a treatment plan for my son and would like to ensure that i have a correct order for him.
