Response to This vet sounds like a jerk

hi,
this is not our regular vet. we just moved here in oct. and our old vet is in another city-far away. this was the closest local vet. when mine ex-husband called the emergency answer service, the vet from this place called. it was the woman, the partner of this man vet we been talking to. the woman did not ever say he could loose his leg...... she just told us to put the turniquet on and said to bring jasper in on monday. by sunday, had wondered mineself about howlong could the foot be tied up like that without circulation. on sunday we tried to take off the bandage, ex-husband did. and it was then that he realized that the bleeding was not stopped at all... he couldnt even get the bandaid off because of the intensity of the bleeding.
yes, IF the vet cared about this injury, and minimizing it, he could of said, yes bring in the dog, if the only thing stopping you is the $ then the charge will be the same as during the week.
am afraid to bring him back tomorrow, just because dont want to have his attitude... am very sensitive person.... but must bring him back....

update on jasper:
he is very lethargic now. he may be depressed. his cage doesnt fit in the living room, and it is in the porch. he is alone in there a lot, except when we sit there beside his cage talking and petting him. he used to get up immediately when he seen one of us, now he just stays laying down. his foot is still very very swollen. The vet didnt drain anything the last time, and dont know if he needs to tomorrow. HE did give this stuff, powder to put on the foot... from what i am seeing it, is some for of sugar, (maltrodexrin or something like that)with vitamin C (is that not what ascorbic acid is?..... dono what that is supposed to do... but need to put in on his foot a few times a day.
he has not peed again since that little bit yesterday morning. and no bowel movements at all...
dono what that all means... jasper seems to be depressed, and his eyes are puffy again, like they were when he was bleeding this weekened.. dono what that means either... know that he seems to be very dehydrated still, because its as if his lips keep getting stuck to his face.... and his nose is ver hot and dry.... am afraid he has fever or something like that... he does have amoxillin 500 mg (just had a script of that mineself this aug. and didnt eat it, but threw it away... too bad... could of saved the $23 these antibiotics cost... what dont understand is this.. when doc ordered amoxicillina for me, 500 mg tablets... it cost $7 to fill the script, and about $2-3 for the meds... but with the vets, it costs over $1 per pill.... same meds... how does that work?)
so, jasper is still recouperating.. and still dont know if he will keep or loose that foot.....

lilghostie-still worried
