Jasper had such a hard time waking up cause he had such blood loss. I would think the dr gave IV fluids during surgery, or even blood, or both. That may account for the puffy eyes and toes actually.

I cant stress enough the importance of water...try to make him drink every 30 minutes, if he does it to please you, even a little, offering it more often will get more into him.
