Response to Sooooooo, the only prerequisite for becoming a citizen is knowing some history...

 

my mother became a citizen in 1948(I think). My sister was automatically a citizen as her father is an American.(hmm is that a "was" as he is dead? dunno) Anyway, I remember her talking about how easy it was. They gave her a booklet to study but basically it was short and contained all the answers so it did not take much studiying. No classes, no nothing. Don't know if that has changed but seems to me that most Americans will get some of these things wrong as we learn the 13 colonies in about 3/4 th grade, so how many remember them all. Seems like we should require much more than learning about George Washington.
