Your dreams are at odds with your child's independence

Response to Andrea get over to the other MB that I have and we will talk, w/o your vaccines.

...and it is so sad. You say no current treatment will help your son. At his age, you are probably close to right, but when he was younger, it's a pity you weren't given proper advice that would have given him a chance.

You seem to look at this from your perspective and not the child's. These children deserve to be as independent as possible. They need parents firmly grounded in day-to-day reality that will help their children develop independence. These kids aren't there to help society become inclusive. These kids shouldn't have to wait for dreams. They should get the best treatment available THAT DAY - and not wait their lives for a parent's dream treatment.

I see my own child's progress and am grateful, and I see her struggles - but at the end of the day, I know I've done everything I can that day to help her grow - not to help her get through the day or to teach others to tolerate her, but to help her grow.

There is a scene in the Poseidon Adventure - the ship is going down. Two groups of people pass each other. Each is sure they are going in the right direction, but one of them isn't. Finally they wish each other well and go on their ways.

The only difference is that parent after parent is showing you the way, saying "my child is making it this way" and you still insist your way is the right one. For goodness sake, you don't need much for a vast improvement - potty training would be a vast improvement. But you are determined to prove yourself right, regardless of anything or anyone else.

I wish you well.
