Response to Chatting |
| i learned the hard way that many people in mixed chat say one thing to me in private or away from that forum and another in front of ops or they stay silent and watch injustice. the thing about mixed fora is that there is always someone who rages that the children are never going to be "normal" and the spectrum adults are a constant reminder of that. If that raging group is in the majority, chat is injurious to us.
My worst experience was being asked to come into a chat to help a newbie. when i got there, the person who invited me was slamming the autism only chat she had intruded on. I just said that #X was necessary as a refuge and was booted for advertising. i did not even mention the name of the chat first. after being booted, many people privated me to say that they thought the op was being ridiculous but only the person who had invited me in the first place stood up to him. the rest kow-towed in a sickening manner. I have often seen people in those chats put aside their beliefs to go along with the majority. there is a word for that behaviour in australia. suckhole. | |
