cant believe this.
am stunned.
am numb.
monday this week OT spoke on telephone.
she said she thinks mika should not be doing the testing, and be exempted from it. she said she will call the school board spec. ed. department and inquire what needs to be done to exempt him from it.
she called back same day.
said she had spoken to the school board rep. (the same guy that had met allready in the very first school meeting the IPRC meeting, where sons IEP stuff started).
HE had told OT that YES it is ok for a principal to exempt a child from testing, if they have communication difficulties (his IEP states he does, he was identified as having this).
HE said that it is "at the discretion of the principal".

OT told mineself that she will speak to the school principal about this and ask for son to be exempted.
so also, to be a part of the process, left TWO messages for the principal.
in both of them stated that am aware that the school board rep. HAS said that son CAN be exempted, and that it IS AT THE DISCRETION of the principal to do so.
also left on that message that the OT also recommends this, and infact it was the OT who had taken it upone herself to speak to the school board rep to find out the procedure and wether son is eligible to be exempted.

SO the principal called this morning, while was online.
she said "i had a lengthy discussion with the OT yesterday, we had a telephone case conference, and she NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING (HEr enmphasis) about recommending mika to be exempted from the grade 6 provincial testing." the principal also said that there was a "procedure that needs to be followed" and that it was "not possible" for son to be exempted. she also said that she was NOT going to be at school on friday.
AARGGHH.
this principal had gotten mesage from mineself allready tuesday, and one wednesday, about this exemption. she knew we wanted it.
wether the OT spoke about it or not.
and why would the OT tell about that if she is not going to then really do it, (bring it up with the principal)????
so this issue has now been left till today.
and the principal am sure will have "no time" to follow whatever the hell this procedure is...

AARRGH>>>
so now what?
will keep son home from testing IF he is not exempted.
he IS eligible to be exempted. and he will be wether it is at the principals discretion or wether it will have to be at mine.

that is it.

either the OT is lying, (about telling the principal) OR the principal is lying.
she is a catholic woman.
she is supposed to "obey god" does not HER GOD say "do not lie"
does she not teach her students "do not lie".
who is lying OT or principal.

who is treating us like this>
