fixing autism

I am distraught after reading this post on another board. even more upsetting than the ideas it contains is that i saw 2 responses and they both thought the ideas were interesting.

Here it is:

This may be WAY off base but I have a question about finding out the cause of Autism. If I understand correct, most physicians believe that autism is genetic or something that couldn't be prevented or
cured right? Well, as I was poking around on the net I came across an article on cloning (a couple wants to clone due to infertility purposes)and it made me think some interesting thoughts. I'm not a big "cloning" fan but I also believe in doing things that can possibly benifit man kind with reasonable limits. My thought is:
wouldn't it be wonderful if an autistic child (whose parents suspected vaccines or diet as the cause) could be cloned so that the clone could be raised differently, on a strict diet without vaccines?
Wouldn't that determine the cause or at least give a HUGE insight on what causes the onset??! I'm a christian (my husband HUGELY disagrees with the entire cloning concept) but at this point I would clone a
million children if I thought it would cure autism! I guess I was thinking of what I would do differently with Brady (who is not yet diagnosed but suspected) and if it wouldn've made a difference. If I could clone him I would put off vaccines, SEVERLY limit antibiotics, and wait a LONG time before introducing different foods (and probably lots of other stuff). ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS?

Well my thoughts are horrified. what about the first child, the reject? what about the experiments that fail or those that succeed and discover their conception was an experiment? what about the issue of no consent from the subject? how many babies can a couple have if the first few are not of acceptable quality?
