<< The following post has circulated on many autism lists this afternoon. I am curious of your response to this? My opinion is totally different from this writer's by what she reports. I did an Internet search of this movie and got basically the same thing she is reporting from the studio. My take and response is different and I am curious of yours? This is how one can send panic through the autism community in a flash over the Internet.

linda, i'd like to know what YOUR take was. do you think it's ok to kill autistic kids out of pity? do you think it's ok that the killer in this story becomes a hero? do you think it's ok that the U.S gov't has backed such a story?
i read this synopsis
http://www.thousand-words.com/pro/leland.html and there was not ONE word about the murder OR the autistic boy. they only referred to it as a "tragedy". AND they suggested the one who was MOST affected by it was the killer's gf. excuse me???? what about the family of the dead boy???
it is DISGUSTING that this story should be told at all, but it is even MORE disgusting for anyone to agree that is a good story, ESPECIALLY the parent of an autistic child.
