the last two times I went out with my friend Maria there were stars but no moon.

One night we sat on the beach at silver lake. It was really very dark, I had trouble seeing and mentioned it to Maria she looked up and noticed there was no moon.
We went out last night as well and when we left the building she again mentioned there was no moon. Both times were beautiful evenings but no moon.
