Response to Letter from Matthew Hoge -- director US of leland

"but ultimately inspires those
surrounding him to make tremendously positive changes in their lives."
This sounds to me like the movie does have a positive message....

guess im still "foolish"

from what i read by the director it seems his purpose of the movie is what i have thought all along...

>>>>The fact that the movie portrays an autistic child being murdered is reason enough for us to be
upset.<<<<<<<

its a fact of the times that many handicapped children are murdered, by strangers and/or by their parents...trying to deny that this happens doesnt mean it wont. Does it upset me, yes. Does it upset me that a movies message begins with the killing of an autistic child?...it depends, its a movie, and if the movie can bring the positive message I think it will bring then perhaps reality is faced and changes can be made.

I am still of the belief (even more so after reading the directors own words) that this movies message may have a positive effect on the thoughts of others in regard to disabled people.

I may feel different after seeing the movie, but based only on what i have read, I still think the message may be positive.
