Another Milestone

Well, Ben has surprised me again.. Every year I volunteer time in my kids classrooms helping my kids teachers do odds and ends that they don't have time for and last year I couldn't even look in Ben's room without him getting really mad crying or screaming at me to leave.. I wasn't supposed to be at school.. That wasn't part of his schedule..

I went to school today and knowing that Ben's teacher needed the most help right now I thought I'd see how he'd react this year. I went in.. didn't look at him or talk to him just sat down and started working at the teachers desk.. I was kinda watching him though and could tell he was deciding what to do about having mom there but finally decided that it might be ok and got back to work..
His teacher said that when they went to lunch he told her "mom, school. ben class." So he noticed and she said he seemed to like the idea that I was there so hey.. we're making progress.
Just thought I'd share.. I was so excited..
