Response to Re: By definition, "intellect" is |
| Sounds like someone is either foolish or vain.
Either they really don't know all that much about autism (and are foolish to speak like they do) or they are trying to protect their bread and butter (as sole appropriate provider) and think they are more important to that mix than they really are (and therefore are vain).
Gotta love those people who are programmed to stay in the box!
God blees those professional (and especially parents and other caregivers) who refuse to stay with the status quo and conventional wisdom. Without these pioneers we would not have Lovaas, the Diet, chelation, yeast/microbal treatment, enzymes, supplements, and most recently, a growing body of evidence connecting thimerosal, amalgams, pertussis, Hep B and most insidiously the measles as sources/treatment options.
I might ask this "professional" if she has prepared outcome studies for her program to cross-reference against other settings/programs that demonstrate their succes/fail rate, anticipated timelines and expected end-result levels of functioning that you could peruse. I'll bet you dinner that she won't. | |
