Aversive therapy

I am a special education major, and I am doing a human interest piece on aversive therapy with children with disabilites- that is trying to diminish an undesirable behavior through electric shock, corporal punishment, inhaling of ammonia, etc. I would appreciate, as a parent of a child with a disability you could give me your thoughts and opinoins on aversive therapy.
