Adults diagnosed with Asperger syndrome?

I am a 22-year-old college student and have never felt as though I fit in any ware. I have trouble being social, such as approaching other people, or initiating a conversation unless approached first or I have something specific to ask or say. However, as a child I was more social then I am now and am very social among close relatives. I am almost always by myself. I also have what my family thinks of as strange habits such as pacing, and talking to myself out loud. Some family members have told me I obsess over the actions of other people. As a young child I would talk in a high-pitched monotone, and would not display emotion in my voice. I went to speech class for this from the ages of 4-7years and talk perfectly well now. I have learning disabilities and though I do well in all my classes always feel I have to work ten times harder then everyone else. Teachers have told me that I just have low confidence. As a two year old I was taken away from my parents and instead of being placed in foster care I was given to relatives. Perhaps some of my behavior could be stemming from abuse? My relatives think I should be tested for Asperger. What do you guys think? Does anything I have written sound like Asperger to you?
