Redhorse!
by Jeff Melson
Hello to all !
I just wanted to once again give my thanks to "ALL" of those who served in Nam, especially the members of Redhorse. Further more, wish to give my respect and honor toward the wives who supported them during their service to this great nation.Redhorse was, and still is, a common name among the members of our family. Perhaps one of the most memorable times during my fathers service. At that time, he was probably a Ssgt.
(Ssgt. Cecil J. Melson)
Hi all I just wanted to let you all know that my E mail address has changed to jmcgee@fdn.com I do hope all is well with everyone as I do not see much happening on the site. Also the medals that we have earned have never been put on the site.
I hope that Mark/Kathy read this...I have not been able to access the rh site...it is either a problem with the site or my model "t" computer...if it's my problem, please email me as I have some questions.
WOW Congratulations Lura and Eddie. Haven't heard from either of you in ages. Now maybe I know why. We wish you the best and right now we will pray for your safety. Let us hear from you now and then. Pat and John.
May the New Year bring a healing to all of us. Many have endured much this past year. Many have lost loved ones and many are just waiting for that dreaded phone call that another loved one has been lost. This with all the troubles of the world are certainly enough to make one depressed but I know the Red Horse Men will find the strength and courage to go on and that they will impart this to those of us who are lucky enough to know them.
We have been in touch with a lot of you personally but have lost touch with some of you on the internet. Hear there is to be a reunion in Branson in March and I think we are planning to go. Hope to see all of you there. Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and less stressful New Year. Pat and John
I happened to find this site while surfing at work (they have a much better connection). Anyway, my dad is a retired Chief (thirty years as a C.E. "dirt man")whose service started in the Phu Cat/Tuy Hoa area (he just told me he was attached to the 819th, but worked with the 820th). LOS was the summer of '69 until Nixon ordered him out in '70 (a little G.I humor on his part). Since dad dislikes computers with a passion, and will only occasionally talk to me about Vietnam occasionally (I think he has only mentioned it a dozen or so times in my entire 34 years), I thought I would post a message. Respond back if you like!
Good of you to stop by, Tom! Be sure to tell your Dad that the original 820th REdhorse is hosting the reunion this next year in Branson Missouri. May 5, 2002. Check out the reunion page on the 819th site for more info. You are welcome too!
We wish you the happiest of Holidays from the Holy Land! Happy Hanukkah! Merry Christmas! Y'shua (Jesus) is the Reason for the Season = may you enjoy the Light of the Messiah in your heart as you light the candles of Hanukkah or the lights in your house for Christmas! We have much to be thankful for this year! Love to the Redhorse!
